Smittcamp Family Honors College - President's Honors Scholarship

The Smittcamp Family Honors College at California State University, Fresno provides a rigorous yet friendly setting in which you can study with your intellectual peers in courses that match those offered at a small liberal arts college, while having access to the breadth of resources and extracurricular activities offered at a high quality, comprehensive university. Admission into the Smittcamp Family Honors College is highly competitive, and for good reason. After over a decade of existence, the Smittcamp Family Honors College is recognized as one of the top programs of its kind in the Western United States. That’s quite an achievement, especially when you consider that some of the most prestigious universities in the country are right here in California. No other institution in the region can match the benefits of the Smittcamp Family Honors College. It offers exceptional students a chance to achieve academic mastery alongside a very select group of like-minded learners.

All students admitted to the Honors College become “President’s Scholars.” Each admitted Scholar to the Smittcamp Family Honors College (SFHC) will receive a President’s Honors Scholarship (PHS) up to a maximum of eight semesters of undergraduate studies. The dollar value of PHS award may vary in a progressive fashion from one academic year to the next and will be determined by the Honors Council (the governing body of SFHC). In addition, SFHC will pay the cost of a double-occupancy dorm room for any Scholar who chooses to live on-campus (Note: the room assignment is at the discretion of the University Housing Office). All PHS recipients are expected to keep a full-time status (a minimum of 12 undergraduate units) each semester. For the 2021-2022 academic year, the PHS award is set at $3,000 per semester for an annual total of $6,000 (plus the dorm stipend if so chosen by the scholar).
