Fresno State Alumni Association - Chicano Alumni Scholarship

Scholarships shall be awarded to students who have been previously enrolled in at least one year of college and who will re-enroll at Fresno State the following academic year as a full-time student. This scholarship opportunity is open to all students in any major who have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better. Applicants must reside in Fresno, Madera, Tulare, Kings, Mariposa, Merced, Stanislaus, or Kern Counties and must have extracurricular activities and demonstrated community service. Students must also demonstrate an interest in the Mexican-American/Latino/Chicano/Hispanic culture or volunteered in the Mexican-American/Latino/Chicano/Hispanic community (e.g. school clubs, business, the arts, social service, charity, church, etc.).

This scholarship opportunity has a financial need requirement. To qualify for this scholarship opportunity, applicants must also submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), or the California Dream Application, and have a calculated financial need analysis done by Fresno State prior to the scholarship application deadline. When the Financial Aid Office receives and processes the FAFSA, a financial need calculation will automatically be uploaded to your scholarship application. The financial need of an applicant is based on the current academic year data when the student applied for the scholarship.
