ABC30 Journalism Scholarship

Scholarship shall be awarded to students engaged in studies in the field of Journalism and/or Multi-Media within the Media, Communications and Journalism Department at Fresno State. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or above. Students must also describe in their personal statement (on the General Scholarship Application) their life story, personal interests, reason for pursuing journalism and/or multi-media, and a statement regarding their need for financial assistance to cover educational costs. Preference given to students who demonstrate knowledge and/or interest in emerging cultures or communities in the Central Valley such as Latin, Asian, African American or LGBTQ+.

Please Note
This scholarship opportunity has a financial need requirement. To qualify for this scholarship opportunity, applicants must also submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), or the California Dream Application, and have a calculated financial need analysis done by Fresno State prior to the scholarship application deadline. When the Financial Aid Office receives and processes the FAFSA, a financial need calculation will automatically be uploaded to your scholarship application. The financial need of an applicant is based on the current academic year data when the student applied for the scholarship.
